What kind of music do you play? That's a hard question to answer for Ryan Patrick Imming (RPI) and one that the Nashville based singer/songwriter/loop artist has been creatively fielding for over 10 years. Ryan plays acoustic based college centric country rock. Think Corey Smith meets Hootie and The Blowfish meets the looping of Keller Williams or Ed Sheeran. He has been a full time regional touring act since 2001, and has been performing solo as a loop artist full time since 2004. He has opened up for several national acts from a variety of genres, like Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Sheryl Crow, The Zac Brown Band, Umphrey's McGee, The Dan Band (From the movies "Old School" and "The Hangover), Brett Eldredge, American Idol winner Phillip Phillips and more.
Since moving to Nashville 2 years ago RPI has split his time between writing/recording with world class musicians and touring consistently. He averages over 200 live shows/year in cities in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas & Ohio. As a "loop artist" or "one man band" RPI uses a loop pedal to create tracks on the fly using the instruments he has on stage, including, vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, harmonica, mandolin and drums. Ryan never plays to pre-recorded tracks of any kind, everything is done in the moment in front of the audience. When playing at a bar, corporate event, college, fraternity/sorority event you can expect to hear a variety of well known cover songs played in a way that you've never heard before. Ryan covers upbeat songs from a wide selection of artists including Tom Petty, R. Kelly, Eric Church, Sublime, John Denver, Jake Owen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Alabama, Blackstreet, John Mellencamp, Poison and more. When playing a festival or opening for a national act you will here more of Ryan's original music from his 4 independently released CD's.
